A miracle to tell…
During our second week of DTS classes, Character and Nature of God, I was able to experience something that I want to share with everyone.
Every thursday is a day of ministry, but first we have a time of intercession together, we listen to God and share what He wants us to do and where He wants us to go.
This week we felt like making notes on sheets of paper in the different languages that the base has: Spanish, English, Portuguese, German and Swedish; words of encouragement and messages that we hear from God. We felt like going out to the park to give them to people and pray for them.
When we arrived at the park, we prayed and asked God to direct us to the right people. We were in the park next to the Children's Hospital because that is where God led us from the beginning. Before we arrived with little Miguel's family, we prayed for two other families, but we knew we were there for someone specific.
As we prayed for more direction, my partner Abigail received the image of a woman alone and in a hammock. There were many people, many women in hammocks, but no one was alone. We were still looking for her, and when we turned around, God led us to Mrs. Mary, who was sitting in the grass leaning against a tree, her face bent over and her eyes closed.
We went with her and immediately the Holy Spirit began to move. When we arrived, Mrs. Mary was praying, she had in her hand a small prayer book that was quite beaten up, you could tell she had been sitting there for a while, changing and turning pages, doing those prayers over and over again.
As soon as we arrived, I could not hold back my tears, I began to feel her concern and her heart in a way I had never experienced before. Mrs. Mary shared with us that she had had her four day old grandson hospitalized since morning, he had been running a high fever for two days and they did not know what was wrong with him. She told us that little Miguel had not yet been registered but that didn't matter, because he already had a name and was fighting inside that hospital for his life.
Before leaving the base while we were making notes, another girl received a word:
“You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something. You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book.” Psalms 139:15-16 TPT
We shared it with each other not knowing that this message would later be for Mrs. Mary. When we were about to start praying for her, I remembered those words, it was just what God wanted to declare for Miguel's life. We finished praying for the little boy and his family and returned to the base.
The next day we returned to the park for a creative activity with the DTS. We arrived at the park and the activity was about what we were learning during the week: that we are created in the image of God and we can be Co-Creators with Him.
We dispersed to have time alone, and I decided to walk to the hospital and there was Mrs. Mary, when she saw me she smiled and gave me the news that Miguel was better and that he would soon be released, she thanked me for praying with her for her grandson and for listening to her.
This week I learned about God's character and nature, He is infinite in knowledge, in power and in presence. Everything else he does out of love, God took me there because he wanted us to be a part of what he wanted to do with Miguel's life, the tears I shed for him at that moment were simply my heart being broken by the same things that break God's heart, it was God's character being reflected through me and I was able to feel it.
God cannot be limited and He has a plan for even a little newborn like Miguel that I do not know and probably will never get to know in person, but it is part of my testimony, God showed me his Power through him. On Saturday I received the news that Miguel was discharged and today he can testify to this in a few years, I am super happy about the miracle that God did in his life and his family's life.
